Roku Remote Not Working

If your Roku remote is not working, perform the troubleshooting instructions given below to fix this issue.

  • Step 1: If you are facing issues with the Roku’s IR remote, first, make sure that no external or internal object is blocking to receive a direct signal from the remote.
  • Step 2: The IR remote requires a direct signal to control your Roku TV.
  • Step 3: Make sure to point the remote to the front of your Roku TV.
  • Step 4: If you find your Roku TV’s remote damaged, replace it with a new one.
  • Step 5: If the Roku TV’s remote is not damaged externally, then check the batteries inserted in the remote.
  • Step 6: If the batteries are weak or dead, then there is a chance for the remote to malfunction.
  • Step 7: To check it, remove the batteries from your Roku remote.
  • Step 8: Insert the batteries back into the remote and check if the Roku remote not working issue is resolved.
  • Step 9: If it doesn’t work, get two new batteries and insert them into your Roku remote.

  • Step 15: To perform the re-pairing, remove the batteries from the Roku remote.
  • Step 16: Now, disconnect your Roku device from the power source.
  • Step 17: Wait for five seconds. Now, re-connect the Roku device to the power source and wait for the Roku logo  to appear on the screen.
  • Step 18: Once the Roku logo is displayed on the screen, insert the batteries into the remote.
  • Step 19: You can find the pairing button at the back of the remote, hold down it for three seconds.
  • Step 20: Otherwise, release the pairing button once the indicator light starts to flash.
  • Step 21: It takes 30 seconds for your Roku remote to establish the connection.
