You can resolve the QuickBook error H505 by performing the following step-by-step instructions.

Disable Host Multi-User Access in all your workstations:

Keep in mind that the computer that hosts a company file must be the only computer configured to host the multi-user mode. You have to disable the Host Multi-User Access feature on all your workstations.

 

To do this, carry out the steps given below.

Step 1

Launch the QuickBooks software on the workstation where you see the error H505.

Step 2

  • You should not open any company files. 
  • Click the File tab and choose the Utilities option.

Step 3

  • If you see the Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option, select it.
  • Note: If you see the Host Multi-User Access option, do not select it. This option will be displayed when there is no problem with the workstation.

Step 4

  • Navigate to the next workstation and select the Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option.
  • Proceed with the steps below to resolve the QuickBook error H505.

Enable Host Multi-User Access in a workstation

After disabling the Host Multi-User Access feature in all the workstations, continue with the following steps.

Step 1

Open the QuickBooks software on the computer that you need to host company files.

Step 2

Select the Utilities option from the File menu.

Step 3

  • Select the Host Multi-User Access option.
  • Note: If you see the Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option, do not select it.
