How to Fix Error Connecting to Icloud on Mac

Sometimes, you may not be able to connect iCloud on Mac and will be re-directed to the iCloud setup window. The error may occur when the server of your Apple ID goes down. Proceed with the steps given below to fix the sign-in error of iCloud on your Mac device.

Method 1:

  • Step 1:Make sure that you have an active internet connection to sign in to the iCloud account.
  • Step 2:Go to the Apple menu and select the Force Quit option to exit all applications.
  • Step 3:Click the Go menu from the Finder. Then, select the Go to Folder option.
  • Step 4:Enter ~Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts/ and click Go.
  • Step 5:Delete the files in the Accounts folder or move them to another location if you need it.
  • Step 6:Reboot your computer and try log in to your iCloud account.
  • Step 7:If you can’t log in to iCloud, go to the Keychains folder from Library and delete all the files present on the folder.

Method 2:

  • Step 1: Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences option from the displayed list.
  • Step 2: If you are locked, click on the Lock icon to unlock and make changes on your Mac device. 
  • Step 3: Enter the admin password when prompted for permission.
  • Step 4: Select the Users & Groups option and click on the “+” icon.
  • Step 5: Choose the Administrator from the drop-down menu in the New Account section.
  • Step 6: Enter your name, account name, and password in the correct fields. Confirm your password by re-entering it and type a hint for your password. Then, click Create User. 
  • Step 7: Click the Apple menu and select Log Out Test to exit the Users & Groups window. Then, click on the Log Out button to quit all the active applications.
  • Step 8: Restart your computer, and click Continue in the Data & Privacy window.
  • Step 9: Enter the iCloud email address in the Apple ID section. Then, click Continue.
  • Step 10: Choose the Dark mode look for better battery performance.
  • Step 11: Wait until the Setting Up Mac screen completes loading, and open the System Preferences window from the Apple menu.
  • Step 12: Select the iCloud icon and enter the email address and password. 
  • Step 13: Enter the verification code received on your mobile to log in to the iCloud account.
  • Step 14: Now, you will be connected to your iCloud account.
