How to Find Printer on MAC

Wireless network printers can be used for home offices and other such businesses. You can print documents from a Mac computer without directly connecting the computer to the printer. Without cluttering up the office space, you can establish a wireless connection with your printers.

Clean Up any Old Printer Software

If the Mac computer on which the printer is to be installed has a printer software, it should be removed from the computer.

  • Step 1: Open the Printers & Scanners pane.
  • Step 2: Choose the redundant printers listed under the section.
  • Step 3: Make use of the _ tool to remove the printer software and its components.
  • Step 4: Access Applications Utilities Uninstall or remove old printer.
  • Step 5: Go to Library Printers InstalledPrinters.plist.

On the Printer

  • Step 1: Switch the printer on and follow the printer’s instructions.
  • Step 2: Connect the printer to the computer.
  • Step 3: On the printer, tap Wireless icon.
  • Step 4: The printer goes into a search mode for the nearby local networks.
  • Step 5: Touch and select the network if that’s the preferred network.
  • Step 6: Enter the password and tap Connect.
  • Step 7: Or enter the network name on the displayed keypad.

Configure on Computer

  • Step 1: Head to the Apple menu System Preferences Print & Fax.
  • Step 2: Tap +and then the IP button in the pop-up window.
  • Step 3: Select Internet Printing Protocol from the Protocol drop-down menu.
  • Step 4: Enter the printer’s IP address in the Address field.
  • Step 5: The message Valid and complete address appears on the screen.
  • Step 6: Give a name for the printer and choose the option Select a driver to use from the Print Using drop-down menu.
  • Step 7: Scroll down and select your printer model.
  • Step 8: Hit Add Continue.

Install the Printer Driver

Though printer driver installation through macOS is the most reliable and compatible way, you can also download and install printer manufacturer support drivers.
